Your data, stated plainly

The actions you take in the app: pages and topics you open, how you practise and quiz, where you get stuck, current-affairs you read, your progress and revision schedule, and app errors. We record these as anonymised event codes and numbers — never the free text you type in searches or the tutor as part of this analytics stream.

One reason only: to make the app sharper for every aspirant — find what confuses people, what to build next, and whether each improvement actually worked. It is never sold or shared for advertising.

No selling your data. No advertising trackers. No capture of minors — if you are under 18, activity analytics stays off. No free-text content in the analytics stream.

India's data-protection law prohibits behavioural monitoring of children. Activity capture is enabled only for aspirants who affirm they are 18 or older.

VEDIK has an optional feature where you can take or upload a photo to get an AI-generated explanation linked to your syllabus. It is entirely at your initiative — your browser asks the camera's permission before it opens, and nothing is captured otherwise. A photo you submit is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to analyse it, and stored on our hosting (Cloudflare R2) so we can process it and show you the result. We use it only for that feature, it is tied to your account, and it is removed when you delete your account. We never use your photos for advertising and never sell them.

If you register for a VEDIK scholarship exam, we collect your name, email, mobile number, college, year of study, the UPSC attempt you are aiming at, and — if you tell us — your past attempts and how far you got. We use these only to run the exam, confirm your seat, and send you your result and diagnostic report. We do not sell them and we do not pass them to your college as a contact list. Category (General / EWS / OBC / SC / ST) is optional — the form defaults to “prefer not to say”. If you do give it, we use it for one thing: working out how many UPSC attempts you have left, so we can read your result properly. It never affects your score, your ranking, or whether you win a scholarship, and it is never shown to anyone outside VEDIK. You can ask us to delete your registration at any time using the grievance contact below.

Raw activity events are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Anonymous day-level summaries (used to track the product's health over exam cycles) are kept longer in de-identified form.

You can withdraw consent anytime (capture stops immediately), ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and delete your account. Deleting your account removes your personal details and anonymises anything you typed.
