Terms of Service
Using VEDIK
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are the agreement between you and VEDIK for your use of the VEDIK app and website (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Effective 29 August 2026 · version terms-v1
1Who can use VEDIK
VEDIK is an examination-preparation tool for aspirants of the UPSC Civil Services Examination. You may use it for your own personal study. You may use the learning features regardless of age, but — in line with India's data protection law — activity analytics is enabled only for users who confirm they are 18 or older; for users under 18 it remains off and certain features may be limited. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.
2Your account
You are responsible for the security of your login and for all activity under your account; keep your credentials private and do not share your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that abuse the Service, attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, or scrape it, or that violate these Terms or the law.
3The Service — what it is, and what it is not
VEDIK helps you study using real previous-year questions, the official syllabus, and cited content. It is a study aid. It is not a guarantee of any examination result, rank, score, or selection, and it does not provide professional, legal, career, or financial advice. We work hard on the accuracy of our content and citations, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current, or error-free; you should verify anything important against official sources.
4Beta
The Service is under active development. Features may change, be added, or be removed, and the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis during this period. We may apply reasonable fair-use limits on usage of certain features.
5Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully and only as intended. You agree not to: copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its content; scrape, crawl, or bulk-download it; probe, disrupt, or circumvent its security or usage limits; upload unlawful, infringing, or harmful material; or use it to build a competing product. We may remove content or restrict access to keep the Service safe and available for everyone.
6Your content & our content
Anything you enter (questions, notes, uploads) remains yours. You grant VEDIK a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and process it solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Everything else — VEDIK's software, design, question analysis, weightage data, and the organisation of its content — belongs to VEDIK or its licensors and is protected by law. These Terms grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service; no other rights are granted.
7Payments
VEDIK is free to use during the beta. If we introduce paid plans, their pricing, billing cycle, and refund terms will be shown clearly before you pay, and these Terms (or plan-specific terms) will be updated accordingly. You will never be charged without your prior consent.
8Privacy & your data
How we handle your data — what we capture, why, for how long, and your rights (access, correction, withdrawal of consent, and deletion) — is set out in the Privacy Policy. You can manage consent and export or delete your data anytime from Settings → Privacy & data.
9Ending your use
You can stop using VEDIK and delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy & data. Deletion removes your personal details and anonymises anything you typed, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will do so.
10Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service and its content are provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or uninterrupted availability. Your use of the Service and reliance on its content is at your own discretion and risk.
11Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VEDIK and its team will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses, or for any loss of data, opportunity, or examination outcome, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your rights as a consumer under Indian law.
12Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you in the app and update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
13Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts at the seat of VEDIK's operations in India will have jurisdiction over any dispute, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have to bring proceedings elsewhere. We encourage you to contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly and informally.
14Contact & grievance
Questions, requests, or grievances (including data-protection matters): vedik.ab369@gmail.com. We aim to acknowledge grievances promptly and resolve them within the timelines required by applicable law.
© VEDIK · These Terms and the Privacy Policy together form the complete agreement for your use of the Service.
